Happy St. Pat's, and Gathering of Eagles? and Other Stuff

and Gathering of Eagles is still going to happen in DC tomorrow, but it might be without Tony and I being there......darn it.....we are getting slammed with a winter snowstorm, and it's iffy as to whether or not we will be able to make it up there. (I didn't even make it into work today.)

I have just spent HOURS sending messages on MySpace to 175 of Dustin's friends, as his page got 'hacked' and is sending out 'hacker' messages to all the people on his Friend's list.  We've also sent him a letter, asking for his password, so we can fix the mess. ARGGHHHH!

Also, Emma's maternal grandmother was in a very bad car accident, I know she and her family would appreciate your prayers. Thank you.

That's it for now, April is chomping at the bit to get on the computer!!

April got contact lenses:) and my cousin Brian and his wife welcomed their new daughter Hannah this past week.

Love to all :)

April's New Hairdo, and Other Things

For those of you I didn't email the picture to, here is April's new haircut.....and she also got it colored, with strands of red and blonde, and black at the ends. Very nice.....but I think it sure makes her look more grown up (lol, what every 15 year old wants, and what every 15 year old girl's mother DOESN'T want:)

We've also ordered contacts for her, which should be coming in soon.

In other news, I fell on some ice/mud on our front walkway when I was coming home from work Monday night, and managed to wrench my back(and also jar my left shoulder, which swelled up at the joint for a day or so.) Which means I have been off this week, to let my back start to heal up. It's finally feeling better, and it's back to work this weekend.

April got selected to go to the Junior High District Chorus later this month, one of only 3 girls selected from a possible 16. Go,April! :)

Happy 21 to Kyle!!

Happy 21rst birthday to Kyle!!

And good luck to April tonight....Opening Night of Oliver!

We had an ice storm that started Tuesday.....I made it to work and took a suitcase, thinking I might be there for awhile once I got there. But, as it turns out, I worked two shifts, and was able to make it home in a lull in the weather.

Now they are calling for Snow this weekend...yikes! on top of all this ice!!

In case you haven't seen it on my other blog? I had yet another dorky experience this past Sunday  Click here: More Dorky Adventures..

And that's what's been going on around here. Hope everyone has a great day!

(if anyone ever reads this, lol, I seem to always forget to post here! Sorry!)

The Forgotten Little Blog:(

Yikes, it's February already!seems like I always forget about this little blog.

I am always so busy posting on the troop support blog, and I cross post a lot of that on Yahoo 360 and MySpace....and then there's work, lol.  April and her cousin Bryan have been practicing, practicing, practicing for the musical. The performances are next week! and starting this week they are going to be practicing from 6 to 10 pm!(after today, they have one last practice today until 5:30 pm after school.)

And then April is going to stay at a church youth lock-in on Friday night, somehow I have the feeling that on my upcoming weekend off, she is going to be exhausted.

January was a brutal month,in a lot of ways, one of them being that I had joined the Living Legends team on Soldiers Angels. They send condolence cards to the families of fallen soldiers, and there were 80 deaths in January. We did not send cards to every family, but certainly to a majority of them. It got so I cringed a little inside, every time I opened my email inbox, because it seemed like all I had were notifications for new names. I must admit, I felt pretty overwhelmed. I ran out of my entire supply of sympathy cards in one week alone.

Add in the fact that Dustin is in boot camp, and I think we all know the extreme liklihood of where his first duty station will be, and it was pretty sobering.

Once again, an unexpected side effect of joining Soldiers Angels is that my prayer life increases .

Other than that, I don't really have a whole lot to add. There is a distressing personal situation going on for me, but I do not feel at liberty to write about it, even on this 'private' blog. That's vague, I know.....but that's all I am going to say, other than to ask for any prayers you might want to offer up just generally on behalf of my family and I. I feel sure the good Lord will know what it's meant for:) And thank you,for any remembrances in prayer.

On a positive note, Tony continues to grow in living 'one day at a time', and our relationship is also growing deeper in ways I never imagined. So, I take heart from that. Sixteen years of prayer seem to have finally been answered, and when I think I might give way to despair over other things going on, I try to hold on to the thought that God's timing is not our timing, and just have faith and continue praying.

And now, I think I am going back to bed....I worked 11 pm to 7 am shift all last week, and then switched back to 3 pm to 11 pm shift for this past weekend, and my sleep schedule is still all wacky.I'm off today, but got up to take April to school, as it was like 4 degrees! Brrr....MN temps, lol. Mom, you can have them!!

Hope everyone has a good week!
