Catching up..
Long silence, I know, while my husband was recuperating from knee replacement surgery. Need to add some more pictures :)
we put up shelves in the front living room
and even though it will be awhile before Tony can paint and carpet, etc his 'Redskins room', we put up some of his shelves and Redskins items in that room
(note..it really wasn't that hard to persuade him to finally unpack and display all his stuff, lol)
we had the two other bedrooms carpeted
and have been hanging things on walls
there will be a break, I'm sure, on any major projects getting done until Tony's knee finishes healing, and springtime! but wanted to catch up on what's been going on.

The clock is ticking..
With Tony's knee replacement surgery coming up, the clock is ticking for him to get all the things done that he wishes to before he'll be recuperating.
This was how the dining room and kitchen looked yesterday while he was working on more painting
and we've also purchased a few area rugs, here's the one in the master bedroom
and here's the one in the front room
more to come...

Just another normal evening here at Chez McClenney, lol.
So the other evening I'm on the computer and I hear Tony start laughing in the other room. When I ask 'what?'he says, 'Um, there's a bird in the house!' So I run into the room and say'there's a bird in the house? how did that happen?'
He replies 'well, I was opening the window to check and see if the storm window was down, and it wasn't..so when I lifted the screen to pull it down, a bird flew in!'
We start running around the house looking for the bird ,which was easy to find because suddenly two cats and two dogs are all heading for the fireplace room, apparently thinking 'oh look..dinner!' One of the cats had the poor bird cornered and Tony grabbed the cat, but not before the cat had gotten a feather, ouch! So then we shoved all the pets into a room and shut the door, and began trying to catch the bird, who kept flying between the huge front window and the top of the fireplace.
Hilarity ensued..Tony was throwing a knotted dishcloth in the bird's direction to try and scare it lower so we could grab it in a towel..until he accidentally threw the dishcloth on top of the chandelier. He asked me for the window squeegee, but couldn't knock the dishcloth down with that, so I ran to get the ladder. He got the dishcloth down and then we moved the ladder over to the front window to where the bird was again...and the bird promptly flew to the other side of the room to the top of the fireplace again! So I began throwing the dishcloth at the bird, to try and drive it back to the ladder side of the room..which it did, but then immediately flew back to the fireplace again. This went on for several minutes, until finally Tony was able to throw the towel over it and pick it up and we let it out the front door.
We were both laughing like idiots this whole time, and Tony said 'well, at least it's always interesting around here!'.

The fence is up!
Tony finished putting the fence up on Friday..it's not totally done we still have some of the temporary fence up at the other end, as the pool guys will need room to work on the pool. but I love the green fence, am so glad Tony picked that color :)
and here you see me using a leaf blower, yay! that was fun :)
I also used the leaf blower on the yard, this was me blowing leaves out of the gutter before we replaced some gutter guards.
We are mostly done with the outside stuff for now, the rest can wait till spring. More to come, as we shift to working on the inside.

Trees
You can really see further back into the woods since Tony cleared out the brush in this area out back, eventually he'll clear more of the brush all across the back yard. (the metal pole sticking up in the middle will have to go,lol) and the stakes are marking where he's going to dig holes to put up the chain link fence.
It was just this past Saturday that I took this pic of some of the trees in the back yard
and they have already gotten so much prettier!

Turned 52 yesterday,woo hoo :)
and, as someone at work pointed out, 52 is a 'full deck'..which is exactly what a friend gave me,lol.
Had family out to the house yesterday for a wonderful dinner of meatloaf and mashed potatoes cooked by Tony.
here's son Kyle, my uncle Ken, and son Ben
